Stockshow Weekend 2009

This picture is taken in the Black Hills, at Pactola Lake.

Well, I am a little late on getting an update, but since I didn't take any pictures, and Mom did, I only have a few new pictures!

We left on Friday the 6th pretty early, so we could make our 7 month checkup in Spearfish! What a wonderful checkup we had, and we've been so blessed with this pregnancy so far. My blood pressure was the best it has ever been, and we got to have one last ultrasound of our little guy! He cooperated alright, and we got to see his "boy parts", which reassured us again! He is around 15 inches long, with a head measurement of a softball, thanks to his dad for figuring the numbers!! His heartbeat was his normal 151 bpm and he is sure to be born with strong leg and arm muscles, since his kicking is getting harder and stronger every day. He finally turned his head so we could see him!! We got an ultrasound picture of his mouth opening, and of his nose and chin, which is the most we've seen this whole time! Everything is looking great, and now we just sit back, grow some more, and wait! Tomorrow we have 11 weeks left until my due date! Our next appt is on February 23rd, and we'll continue on every two week appts until the end of March, then we're on to every week appts!
After our fun dr appt we met up with Mom and Dad in Rapid, and then headed to Keystone to the Roosevelt Inn, where we stayed. Friday night we went to the rodeo at the stock show, and since Painters have VIP seats, we all 4 had great 4th row seats! Painters daughter, Jessica ran barrels and we knew 4 or 5 others that participated, which makes it even more fun! After the rodeo, we went to Coldstone Creamery-YUM-at 11:00 at night, and then headed back to Keystone. Saturday morning came soon enough, and we all got ready to go walk the boothes at the stock show. We got to see lots of old friends, and familiar faces, and for my social butterfly of a husband, this made his day! At 1:00 we headed to the Ramkota where our friends, Lindsey and Trampus, were throwing a party for their one year old, Trinity! The water park was full of fun things, and we're thinking of copying that idea for next year, it's such a great place for a bday party! After getting stuffed with cake and sugar cookies, we headed to Hill City, stopping a few times for sightseeing and pictures, and letting the girls out to run around a bit. The weather was beautiful, but the wind made it cold...something we're used to! We ended up at Hill City by 4:30, so we could get in line at the Alpine Inn, one of our favorite places to eat! We ate here for our Anniversary weekend back in October, and we were just itching to get my parents there to experience it! The line was so long when we got inside the bar area, that place is a gold mine! The environment is something you won't find anywhere else, and the food is amazing, and don't forget the homemade dessert! All the yummy food left us full as ever, and we headed back to Keystone. We had the huge hotel to ourselves, so we all hung out in the entertainment room with a big screen TV, pool table, and Foosball. It was a blast just getting to hang out with my silly parents!
Sunday morning came, and we got packed up to go to Rapid. After a big breakfast at Perkins, and a bunch of tears and goodbyes, we all got on our way. Nathan and I had plenty of errands to run in Rapid, and Mom and Dad headed East to Iowa. We ended the day by getting home, getting somewhat unpacked, and crashing early. I still think we're trying to catch up on sleep, because when 8:00 hits, we're both ready for bed.
Nathan has been practicing for the community play, which will be held March 6-7-8th, the same weekend as my baby showers! So, on Friday March 6th, my Mom, Grandma Foreman, Aunt Marvie, and friend Megan Vostad from Brookings, will be coming to visit, celebrate at the showers, and watch our Nathan perform on stage! haha. I'm looking forward to visitors, before and after the baby!
We don't have too many plans for the weekend, but are planning on celebrating Valentine's Day with a good steak, and candlelight supper, nothing out of the ordinary for us, but maybe some beautiful flowers on the table will make the day more special! :) We'll be celebrating our 6th Valentine's Day together, which doesn't seem possible!
Enjoy the weekend snuggling with loved ones!
