Updates
Friday night we stayed home, and watched Wild Hogs. That is a cute movie, and one we had gotten as a Christmas gift, so we were excited to watch it! Saturday morning we ran to town to get drinking water and run some errands. We took the girls and stopped out at the lake so they could run around, they had a blast. Saturday afternoon I had a honey do list for Nathan to work on. We had bought a ceiling fan for the nursery, and I wanted it put up! We don't have AC so we knew we needed to get a ceiling fan put in there. Nathan did great, especially since he was a little nervous about doing his first electrical job! We had a drum roll, flipped the switch, had the fire extinguisher ready-hah-and to our surprise, it worked! No, I had no doubt it would work and I was surprised how excited we got over a new ceiling fan! After that was conquered I knew Mall Cop was playing up in the Bowman Theater and asked Nathan if we wanted to go. We both agreed it was a movie we wanted to see, and headed on up for a wonderful date night!
Sunday started out rough. To make a LONG story short, the toilet overflowed and I freaked. I took everything out of the bathroom and started scrubbing. Trust me when I say my poor husband! I scrubbed on everything, and then proceeded to vacuum the basement steps, which led to Nathan helping me bring a few items to the basement, when he stood up though, he hit his head on the light bulb and it made this loud popping sound! We had light bulb everywhere! SO, good thing I vacuumed those steps, so then I could vacuum up light bulb! Anyway, after a long afternoon of cleaning, I laid on the couch to watch "Revenge of the Nerds" with Nathan, and fell asleep. I was a tuckered out girl. Nathan had play practice, and I finished putting away everything I had brought out.
Monday morning was an early one, we had a tax appt at 9:30 while I was off to my dr appt at 9:45! My checkup went great, with a 122/78 blood pressure reading, the babe's heartbeat at 140, and my belly measuring right on 31 cm! Weight gain, 16 lbs! But we're almost down to 60 days left to go, so we're getting there! At 1:00 I had a hair appt and ended up getting a lot more chopped off than I thought, but I do love it! I also found my baby shower outfit at Maurices, so that was a big check off the list! We're getting SO excited for all of our family and friends that are coming out to visit and celebrate!
Nathan leaves tomorrow for Rapid City meetings, and will be home on Friday. I'm nervous about a storm coming through, but Nathan says we shouldn't get hit TOO hard! Great, can't wait! When is spring here? We hope that everyone is getting rid of their colds and flu bugs and getting healthy again! As for us, we're doing great up in the NW corner!

Just kickin' it together
Sunday we had another relaxing day, and at 2 Nathan had play practice, and at 5 I headed to town for my girls night, called Dresser Club. We had a wonderful time, ate great food, and watched 27 Dresses, a movie I hadn't seen yet. I got home around 9:30, and we were crashed in bed by 10:00! Our bodies must be preparing for a newborn, because we are sleeping so much harder and longer than ever before! It's that, or the fact that it's winter, our hibernation time! haha.
Today, Monday, was another sleepy morning, and since it is President's Day, Nathan had the day off-yeah! We haven't done too much, which is nice, but tomorrow will have reality biting us, since we'll have to get back on schedule! We left here at 1:00 to go ride Rex and Cheryl over at Painters. The next few pictures are over at their indoor arena, and I got to snuggle into my Rex, he was such a lover today!
Rex had knocked these boots over, so as I kicked them out of my way, I saw a neat picture opportunity! A bunch of boots with spurs...all ready to go.When we got home we took the girls out on fourwheeler run. The temp is only 23 out and while it feels great when working outside, to be on a fourwheeler, it was still too cold. We ended up kicking up a bunch of grouse, which I was watching, and Nathan was watching a fox. I love fox and it is a goal of mine to get one trapped one year. We turned around, not wanting the girls to catch scent and take off after the grouse OR fox, and I was ready to come back in the house to get warm. Tonight Nathan has play practice again, and then tomorrow is back to work. We hope every one's Valentine's weekend was great and spent with loved ones, and everyone has a great start to the shortened work week!

Something Stinks
It was my idea after all, taking the girls up to the burn pit with us. They wanted to run all morning, and we had a few big boxes to get out of the way, so why not run the girls beside the pickup, like we always do, while getting rid of the boxes! Halfway there Nathan says "I'm surprised one of the girls hasn't found a jackrabbit to chase..." we both laughed and then he says "Our luck, she'll find another damn porcupine" which is what happened last year and 100+ quills later, she is now back to normal. Right after talking about the critters the girls find, we were at the burn pit, got our boxes out of the back, and I look over to Libby going nuts on this skunk. I screamed so hard at her, she quit biting it, it sprayed, and then she ran over to us. PEW!! That smell just gets into your nose and it stays put....yuck! We ran them back to the house and while Nathan is telling me about how rabid skunks are this time of year, I was a bawling mess. We put Libby in her kennel in the back of the pickup, while Jade got put in their regular kennel with their doghouse. Well, these two are never separated, so poor Jade was so confused and sad, whining for Libby. With Nathan on the phone to our vet, I was sitting in the kitchen bawling, trying to spray everything down with FeBreze, and lighting candles. We knew that Libby hadn't been bitten, just sprayed, and since she just had her yearly shots a few weeks ago, our vet said she was good to go. SO...on with the bath to deskunk her! Here is a few pictures of the fun Nathan got to have...
Before this Stinky Sunday, we had been having a wonderful weekend together. Friday night we went to Marley & Me, again! We had seen it over Christmas with my parents, but since it was in Bowman, only 50 miles away, we had a date night together! On Saturday we went on a cold and windy fourwheeler ride, relaxed a bit, and then took Rex and Cheryl the two red roans that we've been riding, over to Painters. Calving starts in a couple weeks for heifers at Painters, and in a month over here, and those two horses needed to be ridden! So for the next few weeks Nathan will be riding them over at Painters in their indoor arena, and hopefully he'll get a few roping lessons too! So after a fun afternoon of riding, and me just watching, which is still fun, we had a relaxing evening.
On Friday, February 6th we'll be heading down to Spearfish for our 7 month checkup and one last ultrasound, and then we'll be meeting my parents and staying in Keystone for a weekend spent at the stockshow! We're very excited for them to come out and visit! This will be the last time my dad sees me before I have the baby, since calving back home will be starting up soon too!
We took this before going out on Friday night!
Here we are! Almost 28 weeks (7 months) Everything is going good, and I'm excited for our last ultrasound on Friday! We will start our appts every two weeks after Friday! We have a little mover on our hands, always kicking at his mom! :)
We hope that everyone is enjoying this Superbowl Sunday! Nathan has play practice and then we're planning on eating steaks, homemade rolls, and a good dessert while watching football! Enjoy!
