A Couple Weekends of Fun

Well, it's been a busy couple of weeks around here. The last two weekends have been a lot of fun. 2 weeks ago we headed to Iowa. My Mom had been planning a BIG surprise party for my Grandpa's 80th Birthday. EVERYONE made it! From Texas, South Dakota, and Iowa, everyone made it to Mom and Dad's place. It was a great surprise and a fun couple days! The time was short, but lots of memories were made! My Aunt and Uncle, and their little girl Skye had never met Gunnar, so I've included the pictures of when they met. Skye and "Baby Gunnar" as Skye would say, were good buds during the weekend!
This last weekend Nathan and I headed to the Black Hills on Saturday. Some friends from Pierre were in the Hills on vacation, so we met up in Rapid for supper at Ruby Tuesdays. It was my first time eating there-YUM! It was so great getting to see Kyle and Kristi and their almost 2 year old, Courtney. We stayed at a hotel in Rapid, which was SO nice. For once we didn't have to rush, and I got to do a little shopping! It was nice to get off the ranch and give me a break while spending some well needed time with Nathan. It was short lived, but so much fun!
Tomorrow we are preparing for Gunnar's 4 month shots, even though he's 5 months tomorrow! We had a delay in getting an appt set up due to a couple cancelled appts so tomorrow is the day. I hate going for his shots, but it's a must, and we might as well get it done with! I'm hoping Nathan gets to come with for my support system. I'm hoping to go pumpkin shopping tomorrow too, I can't wait for Gunnar's picture with his first pumpkin! I LOVE Fall!
The weather is definitely Fall-like, and I'm loving it! It's a cold 54 degrees today, and with the wind, the furnace keeps turning on, it's chilly! Thursday they are calling for snow out here, just great. I'm NOT ready for the white stuff just yet. We have birds to hunt, and antelope to shoot! The snow can stay away for awhile, I had my fill the last two years!
Gunnar is changing daily. Rolling over is now a daily occurrence, and he's SO darn strong! Pulling himself all over the place and having a smiling face for everyone. He's such a blessing in our life and we love that kiddo even more than we thought we could love something.
Here's some pictures from the past couple weeks! Enjoy!
Skye and Gunnar! How cute!
We might be in trouble, he seemed to like that DVD player! :)

Uncle Steve, Aunt Michelle, Skye, & Gunnar meeting for the FIRST time!

Skye kept touching his soft skin, she was so great with him!
Happy 80th Birthday Grandpa Foreman!! We love you!! Here is EVERYONE! Every single person got to be there. From Texas, South Dakota, and Iowa, we ALL made it! It was a HUGE surprise!
Here's Grandma & Grandpa Foreman with all of their Grandkids, along with Great Grandkids!
Hmm..someone gets to ride shotgun ever since Gunnar has been born. It's Nathan and Libby up front, Gunnar and Mom in the middle, and Jade and the luggage in the back. Libby thinks she's one cool dog, that's for sure! And see Nathan in the mirror, that is how we've communicated the last 5 months, through the mirror. Now when I sit up front, it almost feels weird because I'm not looking him in the eye while talking to him-ha!
Look at these two handsome boys!! They are ALL mine!
Here we are! Our little guy is ggrroowwing! Our beautiful family!

Puppy Love

Today, Gunnar and the girls got to hang out. The weather was way to nice to be sitting in the house playing, so we spent a bit of our afternoon outside! Our girls are such a huge part of our life, and I feel so bad that they don't get the attention they used to, but it's getting better the older Gunnar gets. I put Gunnar in his stroller, let the girls out of their kennel, and let the licking of his toes, legs, hands, and face begin! They seem to understand that they have to be careful with him, because Jade especially, is very gentle. Libby likes him, but will really like him when he's old enough to carry a BBgun with her hunting in front of him.
The memories to come will be priceless. A boy and his dogs...I can't wait.

He is wearing his "woof" onesie, I figured the girls would enjoy his attire! :)

Gunnar and I have been getting to go on 1 to 2 walks a day with his stroller and the girls. The weather is getting to be just the right temp, and the bugs are slowly disappearing. Days like today with not very much wind, are wonderful!

Gunnar has found that he can pull his socks off, and then put them to his mouth-YUM! He can now roll over, and has done it a number of times for me, but not when Nathan's been around. Oh wait, Nathan hasn't been around that much, so maybe that is why! We all know I wasn't the one in favor of his job change, and even though it's grown on me, there are still days that I'm frustrated.
On Saturday night, we went out with newlyweds, The Browns, Jamie & Justin. We had a blast, and went to Bowman to a yummy steakhouse! Gunnar was wonderful, like usual, and we got to eat really good steaks and pasta, while having plenty of laughs together! We took these pictures before we left to go out for supper...

We are so blessed with an amazing babe, and to have such a great marriage.

Time to catch up!!

We are still alive in this NW country! Since August 20th we've been going like crazy..with weddings, and visiting family and friends, a week trip to Iowa, and now home. Here's a few of the highlights...
We held a fish fry at our house on Wednesday, September 2nd with Joe and Cindy Painter, and the other two hired men, Vessel and Kevin. My Mom and Grandma were also here visiting, so it was a FUN time and everyone went home with full bellies! The guys standing around talking while eating the fresh fish as soon as it came out of the fryer! ha!

IOWA corn..only the best! This is at my parents farm in Iowa. My Dad and Gunnar were checking the corn after Gunnar had gotten a tractor ride! It was so much fun being home!

Look at that face...what a goof! Precious boy..4 months old on August 30th..can you believe that??

While in Iowa, my brother and his girlfriend had some good friends of theirs get married! Mom and Dad were invited, so Gunnar and I tagged along. What a beautiful ceremony and reception. Evan was a groomsman. Here we are, Gunnar and I, Evan & Julie!

Here's Mom & Dad looking so nice and beautiful during the reception!
Tractor time..Dad & Gunnar on the John Deere!
Gunnar & his Johnny Poppers on Grampy JD's John Deere! And yes, how appropriate that my dad's initials are JD...I know..Jerry Dean!
Proud Uncle Evan and Gunnar...SO cute!
Jessica Painter and Joe...this is how they rode..hand in hand, until he had to give his daughter away to Casey..it was an amazing ceremony and reception.

Gunnar Sage wearing Dad's hat...and we found him a western shirt! He had ladies swarming all over him!

On Thursday, August 20th, Jessica Painter married Casey Holmes in Belle Fourche at Besler's Cadillac Ranch. It was B-E-A-Utiful and never going to be forgotten. Horses and buggies, a live band, a gorgeous couple, an unforgettable night. My parents got to come to the Hills from Iowa, and we spent the night in Spearfish. After a fun time at the wedding we headed to Pierre on Friday. Nathan was Best Man in Kit Bramblee and Kayla Gabriel's wedding on Saturday. Another beautiful couple and such a fun time! We stayed at Nathan's dad's new home and had a fun time getting to catch up with my parents, and Tom. On Sunday, Mom, Dad, Gunnar, and I got loaded to head to Iowa, while Nathan and the girls were heading home to Buffalo.
The week in Iowa was a blast. We got to visit many family and friends, and do some relaxing! Mom and Grandma brought Gunnar and I home on Sunday and they left the next Friday, so what a wonderful time we had!

Look at that face...what a little lover! Grandma Foreman and Gunnar! Grandma babysat one day while Mom and I ran to the Hills for me to get my haircut and run to Walmart. It was a fun day with Mom, and I know Grandma enjoyed being at home with Gunnar. He's wearing an outfit that Evan used to wear, it looks so cute on Gunnar.

Well, I have a TON of other pictures that Mom took, but for now this will due! Mom and Grandma got me all caught up on housework and laundry, but somehow it starts to all add up again! Tomorrow we head to the Hills, Nathan rolled his ankle a couple weeks ago, and chipped off some bone, so he has an appt to see if he needs to get that bone removed. So wish us luck that it turns out and heals okay!
