Baby Boy Update

What a day! We just got home from leaving 12 hours ago, with a day full of appointments in Spearfish! We started off with a beautiful day yesterday, which was a total tease, because today was miserable..again! We got everyone loaded, girls and all, and headed off. For awhile there I know we were both thinking that we shouldn't have been out, but Nathan was persistent! Libby had her yearly checkup and shots at the vet at 10:00, and to our luck, we pulled up right on time! I'm an early bird person, where as Nathan gets to where he needs to be right on the minute, so I guess he won today! Anyway, Libs did great and got plenty of treats while she got her shots! After that, we ran a few errands, let the girls out for a break, and went to my 6 month checkup! I was but wasn't aware that I would be doing a glucose test, and today happened to be the day! So I got sent to the lab right away to drink an orange carbonated drink in under 5 minutes, and since I was starving, I downed it in 30 seconds-not even kidding. The nurse and lab tech were in shock, and probably thought I liked to party hard since I drank that so fast, but really I was just hungry! So after drinking that I went to the clinic, got weighed...yuck...and from day one of everything to now, I have gained 10 lbs. Hopefully I keep right on track, and if we would get a little better weather, or temps above zero, I might think about walking the girls more like I used to, but for now, I'm content with 10 lbs. Our doctor came in, chatted a bit, got my belly measurements, which was a fun treat, and listened to his heart beat. 150 beats a minute, which is normal! She knew he was a wiggle worm, since he has been from day one, so we had fun talking about feeling him move, how often, and Nathan feeling him. Everything is right on track, and we're due for our 7 month checkup on February 6th! We are most likely going to have one more ultrasound, which is next month, so that is always fun! Then, after that appt we'll be going every 2 weeks until April, and then we're up to once a week! Once we get to April, we'll know we're close! :) Our crib that we ordered finally got shipped today, and I'm extremely excited to get it put together and the bedding put in it! I had to wait an hour after drinking that stuff before they drew blood, so after waiting, reading magazines, and driving Nathan crazy with questions, I got my blood drawn. 2 more hours and we'd know if I failed or passed. If I failed, I would need to fast for a day, drink more of that stuff, and wait 3 hours just to get my blood drawn again...I was praying I would pass!
After my doctor appt, Nathan had his yearly Eye doctor appt! So, it was his turn! His eyes actually improved since he's taking better care of them and changing contacts when he's supposed to! So we came out with good news there too!
Well, 2 hours later our cell phone rang while shopping in Walmart, and my nurse said my numbers look great, along with my hemoglobin from the blood they had drawn! That called for a celebration icecream from DQ! What was I saying again about those 10 lbs?? Anyway, after shopping, eating, dr appts, and icecream, we headed home! The wind that was blowing 40-60 mph was slowed down and made the trip home much more pleasant! The temps on the other hand are freezing, and since it melted yesterday, we now have plenty of ice. Not good for an accident prone person who is pregnant on top of it! Luckily I have a wonderful husband who escorts me everywhere like a little old woman needs!
Our weekend is pretty low key for once, and we have NO plans! This hasn't happened in forever, so most likely you'll find us in our jammies hanging out on the couch watching movies! With a Pierre trip coming up, along with the stockshow, I have a feeling these next few months might fly by!
I wish I had new pics to show off, but with this cold weather the camera doesn't like to work outside, AND we haven't done that much outside unless we had to!
We hope everyone is doing great, and keeping warm all cuddled up with loved ones!

Hey Erica! Congrats to you and Nathan on the baby! If all you've gained is 10 lbs, you're doing awesome. :-)
